At last count, there are around 85 Mexican restaurants or food trucks in Tampa. There are about 30 more in St. Petersburg and the beach areas of Pinellas County. So with over 100 options to choose from, you could safely say that Mexican restaurants are well represented. They range from classy and upscale places to food trucks tucked into the back of parking lots–but fancy or not, big or small, there are hidden gems scattered amongst them. One interesting thing about the local Mexican cuisine–the quality can vary even within the restaurant–some dishes that are not so good might be served right next to something spectacular.
