There are around 50 or Asian restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. That general figure, or course, represents a number of different Asian cultures, e.g. Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Viet Names, with each having their own distinct flavors. Like all of the restaurants in the various cuisines of Tampa, there is a great range in quality and flavors. I’ll mention that some years ago, my late wife and I worked in the computer industry, and we had a colleague who was Chinese. One day, he asked to go to dinner with him and specifically asked if “we liked authentic Chinese.” We enthusiastically said yes please and he brought us to a really nice place (I can’t remember the name of it and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t exist anymore. I believe it was on Armenia.) And true to his endorsement, it was very good. He knew the owner and could order some things that weren’t on the menu. So the moral to that story is we may not be in New York or San Francisco, but there are some pretty good Asian places if you know where to do. This site will endeavor to find some.
