I’ve been in Tampa Bay for about 35 years. When I first came here, I thought with all the coastline nearby, there would be an abundance of great seafood places in the area. Sadly, that wasn’t really the case. To be fair, there are some pretty good seafood places, but for those with discerning tastes, you need to sort through some very average places to find the good ones. Tampa Bay (and most of Florida) have also been plagued by having seafood restaurants claim that menu items were grouper or wild caught gulf shrimp, when tests revealed they were not. But with these caveats in mind, there are some good ones in Tampa Bay and I’ll try to help you find them..
